EnVyUs secure a place in the final tomorrow over Astralis in three maps, Cache (16-13), Overpass (13-16), and Mirage (16-7), where they will meet the winner of Dignitas vs CLG.

EnVyUs’s map pick, de_cache, came first. Both teams were neck and neck from the start, as nV tied the score 2-2 on the fourth round after losing the T side pistol but managing to win a buy on the third.

Astralis managed to chain three rounds together, but EnVyUs had gotten plants to keep them in the game economically, and therefore allowing them to bounce back and tie it again 5-5.

The Danes pulled through on the CT side to get a 6-9 lead before switching sides at the midpoint. A pistol win from nV tied the score back up 9-9, and then kept going.

Finn "karrigan" Andersen got a big 4K afterplant to try and stop the momentum, but only momentarily, as they lost the next round resetting their money and allowing Kenny "kennyS" Schrub to clean up against the ecos and chaining rounds until the score was 10-15.

With five match points against them, Astralis turned up the heat winning three in a row and making the comeback a real possibility. It was too little too late, however, as EnVyUs bagged the map on an eco, thus denying that possibility.

Cache was too close for comfort

The second map, de_overpass, started with EnVyUs on the terrorist side, taking the pistol round and the following ecos. A 3K from karrigan on the first gun round got Astralis back in the game, and another 3K, this time in an afterplant situation by René "cajunb" Borg, secured them the fifth round leaving it at 3-2.

Astralis took the momentum and went up to 3-6, until kennyS got his confidence back and started absolutely dominating the server with 14 frags in the following 6 rounds, all of which nV won to close out the half 9-6.

35 frags weren't enough to stop Astralis on Overpass

Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt put up a brick wall on the pistol round, getting three P2000 headshots and winning the round for his team. With the three following rounds in the bag and 12-6 on the board, it seemed nV could deliver a killing blow and start to run away with it.

Nicolai "device" Reedtz with two entries in the next round, and Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen with two entries in the one after, had a different idea, as their team would go on to win both rounds to start the comeback. Astralis then bagged 7 straight rounds to plant themselves on map point, with every player putting in their grain of salt, eventually nullifying kennyS’s 35 frags and taking it to the decider, de_mirage.

Astralis managed to turn up big to stay alive

The match picked back up on de_mirage, with EnVyUs quickly putting themselves in the lead on the T side after winning the pistol and the next two ecos.

Two opening frags by karrigan and three closing frags from Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth put Astralis on the board. EnVyUs, however, didn’t falter as a very clean A execute gave them their fourth round, forcing Astralis into a full eco.

With things going quite downhill, and behind 1-6, Astralis called a timeout to try and halt the frenchmen’s momentum. Astralis fought tooth and nail to take two of the three following rounds, and eventually completely turning around the half. Astralis went on to win the last four rounds of the half, including the last one with an incredible AWP + CZ ace by device from dark on A.

apEX showed up on Mirage to secure it for nV

Astralis gave up yet another pistol round putting themselves in a very dire situation as they went on to lose the five subsequent rounds, having trouble managing their economy all the way to 6-14. Astralis one a single round on the T side, but that was just a hiccup as nV held tight and put themselves up 7-15, securing 8 match-points. Only one of which was needed in the end as they took the last round against a single AK to close it out.
